SCREEN PRINTING 101:
Want to learn to screen print? Screen printing 101 teaches a basic screen printing technique which uses a 230 mesh aluminum screen to print ink onto paper, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a stencil created with emulsion. Over the four weeks, students will create their own unique design, and learn to burn the image onto a screen in preparation for printing. Students will then print a 2-3 color screen print by learning how to layer different colors of ink and using the technique of registration to get clean lines and clean prints.
Dates: 4 Consecutive Wednesdays
2024 August 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Max Class Size: 6 students

MONOPRINTING WITH SILK SCREENS & PROCION DYES:
Monoprinting is a painterly form of printmaking where the image is only intended to be made once, unlike most other printmaking techniques that allow for making multiple copies. There are many different types of monoprinting, and this class will explore the screen printing technique. This involves working directly on the screen using procion dyes, charcoal, and watercolor crayons to create a unique printed painting.
Dates: 2024 Dates TBA
Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Max Class Size: 6-10 students
$65 Per Student

PRINT & DRINK:
We absolutely adore the art of screen printing and cherish the opportunities to gather around the print table, engaging in lively discussions about our craft over a few casual drinks. This one-night event was conceived as a chance to indulge in the joy of creation, allowing you to let go of the stresses of the day and embrace the start of a rejuvenating, creative weekend. It provides a welcoming space where you can immerse yourself in the hands-on process of screen printing, surrounded by like-minded individuals who share your passion for this expressive medium. The evening is designed to be a refreshing respite, a chance to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with the fulfilling, tactile experience of bringing your artistic visions to life.
We will be using the screen printing process to explore the art of monoprinting. For those unfamiliar with this technique, don't worry - we'll break it down step-by-step. Monoprinting is a fun and accessible way to create unique printed designs, allowing you to experiment with inks and textures in a relaxed, playful environment. It's a simple yet rewarding process that fosters creativity and camaraderie. Whether you're an experienced artist or a complete beginner, this activity offers an opportunity to unleash your imagination, get your hands dirty, and enjoy the company of others in a lighthearted, stress-free setting. So let's dive in, embrace the process, and have a wonderful time creating together.
The night will be 2 hours long give or take depending on your creativity and project. We will have light food and drinks so you can have fun and not worry about fatigue or hunger and get more focused on your project. You will also get a DIY Printing T-Shirt so you can keep your regular clothes clean and look cool with a studio shirt that does really cool screen printing.
