About DIY Printing
Located inside the Essex Art Studios, a local artist hub in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, DIY Printing is a full-service screen printing shop and art studio. Our goal is to enrich artists' lives by providing an open printing studio that supports and encourages their work.
DIY Printing offers awareness, outreach, and education for the community. As a compassionate Screen Printing studio, we open our hearts and doors to provide a welcoming silk screen studio for our beloved community artists. We understand the importance of creative expression and strive to nurture a space where artistic visions can flourish. While we lovingly cater to artists, we also engage in commercial printing to sustain our studio and continue our mission of support. Our aim is to tenderly embrace and uplift our tight-knit community in various meaningful ways. We pour our passion into printing vibrant T-shirts that tell stories, eye-catching posters that inspire, and practical bags that carry dreams. With every item we create, we infuse it with care and attention to detail. We're deeply committed to our environment and future generations, which is why we wholeheartedly promote the use of recycled packaging. We believe that creativity and sustainability can beautifully coexist, and we encourage innovative, eco-friendly design solutions. To share our knowledge and foster a sense of togetherness, we offer heartfelt classes where we can connect, learn, and grow together. These sessions are more than just tutorials; they're opportunities to build lasting relationships and nurture the creative spirit within our community. In everything we do, we strive to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where artists and community members alike can feel supported, inspired, and valued. Our studio is not just a business; it's a labor of love, dedicated to enriching the lives of those around us through the art of screen printing. |

RETURNS IN 2024 SEE CALENDAR August 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th Wednesdays Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm Want to learn to screen print? Screen printing 101 teaches a basic screen printing technique which uses a 230 mesh aluminum screen to print ink onto paper, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a stencil created with emulsion. Over the four weeks, students will create their own unique design, and learn to burn the image onto a screen in preparation for printing. Students will then print a 2-3 color screen print by learning how to layer different colors of ink and using the technique of registration to get clean lines and clean prints. |
